
Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27th the year 1976. He grew up in the southern part of California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School, where he was a top athlete on both the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez continued to excel in those sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, Gonzalez tied the record for school bowls with nine receptions. The following year, Gonzalez led the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. After that, he left the school to enter the 1997 NFL Draft. Gonzalez was chosen at number 13 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was in the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. He was never able to catch less than 59 passes during Gonzalez's second NFL season.
