Her appearance is also in Tyler Perry's hit film, Why Did I Get Married? Perry, Janet Jackson and the film indie Frozen Peas are all starring alongside her. Other film credits for her are The 636 (for which she was awarded the title of Best Actress at the 2014 NYLA International Film Festival), Shattered! Never Die Alone, American Adobo, as well as American Adobo. Cum Laude's B.F.A. was awarded to Keesha after she graduated. Keesha started her professional career in the stage world after she graduated from the Cum Laude Conservatory with the B.F.A. She appeared in The Broadway National Tour of Carousel and debuted Off Broadway with Michael Bradford's Living in the Wind. Additionally, she played eight characters in the comedic Eat the Runt. Keesha also appeared in Abyssinia as well as Aida and Thunder Knockin' as well as Jitney. Some other shows included Big Street, Suburb, The Producers and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Keesha also read the play with August Wilson. Her work also includes the directing of episodes of "Lethal Weapon", Are We There Yet?" and short films One Day Lillian and Half Off. Keesha was the co-creator of Clean, The Brit & Broken Doll. Also, she has several original projects under research.
