McKayla Rose Maroney has retired as an American singer and artistic gymnast. She was on her country's American female gymnastics team known as known as the Fierce Five. In the Summer Olympics 2012, she was awarded a gold medal for team and silver in individual vault. Early years. McKayla Rose Maroney born December 9th, 1995 in Aliso Viejo California. She is the daughter of Erin Maroney. McKayla is of Irish Catholic heritage. She is the sister of Tarynn Kav. It was a brief time she lived on her own in Topeka but felt haunted with the memories of being evicted from her home and church.
